Frequently Asked Questions

Find helpful answers about our renovation services, project process, quoting, payments, service areas, warranties, and what to expect when working with Promark Renovations Ltd.

Do you visit before quoting my project?

Yes. Our quotation process includes a job-site visit so we can measure the project area, inspect its current condition, and better understand what the renovation involves. A bathroom remodel, kitchen renovation, basement development, structural change, or complete home renovation can have very different requirements, so seeing the property helps us assess the scope before the project moves forward.

Why don’t you list renovation prices?

Renovation costs vary considerably according to the property, project scope, existing conditions, materials, demolition requirements, trade involvement, access, and other job-specific factors. For that reason, we do not publish fixed renovation prices, starting prices, or standard packages online. We assess each project individually and prepare the quotation around the work being considered.

Can you coordinate several project trades?

Yes. Many renovations involve several types of work, and we can coordinate different trades when they are required as part of the project. This is especially useful for complete home renovations, kitchens, bathrooms, basements, and other multi-stage projects where framing, finishing, plumbing, electrical, drywall, flooring, tile, or other work may need to be scheduled in the appropriate sequence.

Do I need to pay a deposit?

Yes. We collect a 25% deposit before work begins. Once the project is moving forward, the work is scheduled and the remaining payments are handled progressively as stages of the renovation are completed.

How do I pay during renovations?

After the initial 25% deposit, the remaining project payments are collected progressively as stages of work are completed. This payment structure follows the progress of the renovation rather than requiring the entire remaining amount at the beginning of the project.

Will you ask before doing extra work?

Yes. If additional work is identified that was not included in the original project scope, we inform you and discuss the additional cost before proceeding. We obtain your approval before carrying out that extra work, helping you understand changes to the project rather than finding out about added work after it has already been completed.

What workmanship warranty do you provide?

We provide a one-year workmanship warranty on work completed as part of our projects. The confirmed workmanship warranty also applies to plumbing and electrical work delivered through our subcontractors as part of the Promark project. Because warranty coverage relates to the work performed, specific questions about coverage for your renovation can be discussed in relation to your project.

How will you keep me updated during my renovation?

We provide regular project updates, explain relevant information as the renovation progresses, and keep customers informed about scheduling. Communication is an important part of how we manage projects, particularly when several stages or trades are involved and customers need to understand what is happening and what comes next.

Can you manage my complete home renovation from start to finish?

We can manage the key stages involved in a complete home renovation according to the scope of the project. This can include planning, material selection, demolition where required, installation, coordination of different trades, finishing, cleanup, and a final walkthrough. Because every complete or whole-home renovation is different, the exact stages and trades involved are determined by what your property actually requires.

Can you renovate my kitchen, bathroom, or basement?

Yes. Kitchen remodeling and bathroom remodeling are two of our priority renovation services, and we also provide basement development and renovation. Depending on the individual project, related work can involve framing, flooring, tile, painting, carpentry, finishing, and coordination of plumbing, electrical, drywall, cabinets, countertops, or other required work. The exact scope is established for your particular renovation rather than assuming every project needs the same services.

Can you renovate my rental property or business?

Yes. We work with homeowners, rental-property owners, and businesses. In addition to residential renovations, commercial renovations and rental-property renovations are confirmed parts of our service offering. We assess the property and proposed work to understand the scope, scheduling considerations, and renovation services that may be required.

Who will perform plumbing, electrical, and other specialist work on my renovation?

We perform a range of renovation and construction work directly while coordinating certain specialist and supporting trades through subcontractors. Plumbing and electrical work are subcontracted, as are kitchen cabinet installation, countertop installation, drywall, taping, and mudding. Where these services form part of a larger Promark renovation, we coordinate the required work as part of the overall project.

Can you help with permits, inspections, and engineering if my renovation needs them?

Yes. When permits, inspections, engineering documentation, or other project requirements are needed, we can coordinate or provide the required project approvals and documentation as applicable. Requirements vary according to the work involved, so we assess them in relation to the specific renovation rather than assuming every project needs the same approvals.

Can you help if my renovation involves a load-bearing wall?

Yes. Load-bearing wall work is part of our confirmed framing and structural renovation capabilities. Because structural alterations can involve engineering, permits, inspections, or other approvals, we approach this type of work according to the requirements of the individual project. We can handle the required project approvals or documentation when they are needed rather than treating a structural wall alteration like a simple non-structural change.

What happens after I accept my renovation quote?

Once you decide to proceed, we collect the required deposit and schedule the work. The renovation then moves through the applicable construction and finishing stages, with progress payments collected as work is completed. We provide project updates and scheduling information during the work, complete the finishing stage, and conclude the project with a final walkthrough.

How long will my renovation take?

We do not apply one standard completion time to every renovation because the schedule depends on the type and scope of work involved. A bathroom renovation, basement development, structural project, and complete home renovation can have very different requirements. Once we understand your project, its scope can be planned and scheduled more appropriately, and we keep you informed about scheduling as the work progresses.

Can you help me plan the renovation and choose materials?

Planning and material selection can form part of the complete renovation process we manage. The level of planning required depends on the project, so we first assess what you want to renovate and what the existing property conditions require. This helps connect material decisions and project planning with the actual construction work rather than treating them separately from the renovation.

What happens if unexpected conditions appear after work starts?

Existing or unexpected conditions are among the factors we consider when assessing renovation work. If something results in work outside the original scope, we inform you and discuss the additional work and associated cost before proceeding with that extra work. We obtain your approval first so that changes can be addressed openly as the project develops.

What happens during my final walkthrough?

A final walkthrough takes place after the applicable renovation and finishing work has been completed. It provides an opportunity for us to review the completed project with you as the renovation reaches its final stage and address the completion of the work within the agreed project scope.

Can I see before-and-after examples of your renovation work?

Yes. We have before-and-after project photos that can demonstrate completed renovation work and property transformations. These examples are useful for seeing actual work rather than relying entirely on general claims about workmanship, and they can help you understand the types of renovation projects we have completed.

How can I judge your workmanship before hiring you?

We believe workmanship is better demonstrated through real evidence and a clear process than through exaggerated claims. You can consider our before-and-after project photos, our approach to assessing and managing renovation work, regular project communication, final walkthrough process, and one-year workmanship warranty. We also bring a client-approved 19 years of renovation and construction experience to our work.

How much renovation and construction experience do you have?

We bring 19 years of experience in renovations and construction. Promark Renovations Ltd. itself was established in 2020 and operates as an Edmonton-based construction and renovation company. Our experience supports work across complete renovations and a range of individual construction, remodeling, and finishing services.

Do you have WCB coverage for your renovation work?

Yes. Promark Renovations Ltd. has WCB coverage. We include this as one of the practical business credentials customers can consider when evaluating us for renovation and construction work.

Can you take my project outside Edmonton, Red Deer, or Calgary?

Possibly. Edmonton and surrounding areas, Red Deer, and Calgary are our primary service areas, but we may travel elsewhere in Alberta for larger renovation projects. Because this extended coverage depends on the project, contact us with the property location and scope so we can determine whether travelling to your area is practical for the work involved.

Can you handle different sizes of renovation projects?

We work on renovation projects of different sizes and scopes, and we have specifically confirmed the ability to handle basement projects of varying sizes. Rather than publishing a minimum or maximum project value, we prefer to understand what you need renovated and assess whether the project is a suitable fit based on its actual scope.

What should I tell you when contacting you about my renovation?

Start by telling us where the property is located, what type of renovation you are considering, which area of the property is involved, and a brief description of what you would like to change or improve. Any other useful project details can help us understand your enquiry. From there, we can discuss the renovation and the appropriate next step for assessing the work and preparing a project-specific quote.
